We’ve been talking about web traffic since lesson #72 and we still have a few more traffic lessons remaining.
In this lesson I cover more than 400 websites where you can potentially get free web traffic (plus I give you links to some directories with a combined total of more than 700 additional sources listed… so there’s actually well over 1000 traffic sources here!).
(Watch this video – it may take a minute to load after clicking it…)
ANNOUNCEMENT: I’ve released a new course, which goes into more depth on some of the free traffic methods from this lesson, PLUS shows you how to make money from that traffic… even if you don’t have a website. The course is called: “NO COST INCOME STREAM“. This is something that people have been asking for, for a long time. |
Outline of this lesson:
Sources of Free Web Traffic:
– Join the biggest forums in your niche.
– Search Google for “discussions” in your niche.
– Establish yourself as an authority by providing valuable posts to the forum.
– Answer people’s questions.
– Have a good signature, with an enticing link, such as a link to a freebie.
Forum Search Engines:
boardreader.com
omgili.com

– Create “link bait” (See lesson #78)
– Write something highly controversial.
– Utilize trackback links as a form of conversation marketing with other bloggers.
– Particpate in blog carnivals. See blogcarnival.com
– Host your own blog carnival.
– Leave comments on other peoples’ blogs. (Do NOT spam or use automation)
– Expand your reach through RSS feed syndication.

Action steps:
1) Decide whether you want to focus on the “free traffic” route.
2) Decide whether SEO is a priority for you, and keep that in mind as you employ tactics that may positively or negatively impact your SEO.
3) If you decide to employ any of these traffic strategies, choose one and start with it.
In the next lesson we’ll be looking at affiliate driven traffic.
As always, you are welcome to post your questions and comments below 🙂
Have a great day!
You are the best person around Eric.Gathered so much information from watching and reading your site.So is a page rank of 2 good? The site is only 6 months old.I have been doing the steps you have said to do.So what i do not under stand is what google says about having a data resource subject.Could you give a response?
Hello Clifford,
I wouldn’t worry about Page Rank too much. It is only one of hundreds of triggers Google now includes in its algorithm.
Some time ago, a page rank of 2 meant that you still had a long way to go.
What do you mean by “data resource subject?” That phrase isn’t really showing up anywhere when doing a search for it.
Been watching your videos since last year march n not even Chris Farrells paid membership site touches this
Erick gives out tips that are even better than paid courses thanks for been there for us i am a newbie but i believe this is gona be it
Hi Eric
I want to purchase the Review Site Empire but could you tell me if there is additional OTO sales? Is it just $27.99 one time payments and get all the bonuses as advertised
Ken
Its YOU-DEH-MEE! hehehe. and its esnips not ensnips 🙂
Hello Ken,
Yes, everything shown in the video is included in the one time payment.
I believe there are upsells for some pre-made review sites in other niches as well, but not everyone will want to take advantage of those.
We removed our promotion, but if you still need the links, just contact our helpdesk:

Hi Eric,

Hi Eric,
thanks a lot for sharing your knowledge, this is awesome stuff!

Good day! This is kind of off topic but I need some guidance from an established blog.
Is it very difficult to set up your own blog? I’m not very techincal but I can figure things out pretty fast. I’m thinking about making my own
but I’m not sure where to begin. Do you have any points or suggestions? Thanks

Wow that was unusual. I just wrote an very long comment but after I clicked submit
my comment didn’t appear. Grrrr… well I’m not writing all that over again.
Anyways, just wanted to say wonderful blog!
Hello Clint,
Due to rampant spam, all comments have to be manually approved before they will appear.
An interrupted connection can also cause a comment to fail to submit properly. Whenever I am about to post something large, I like to copy it to the clipboard first, in case something goes wrong.
Glad you like the lessons!
I get almost everything here. I think it will take almost 1 year to do things that you listed here…thanks for providing us this!. Now i get another spoon feed to increase my blog traffic
Wow!
This’ll keep us busy for years – thanks for a superb and very thorough list
Hi Eric,
This is a great post with an awesome amount of traffic sources! I was actually writing an article about traffic generation on my own blog when I found this blog. I am a bit of a noob online marketer & have started a blog a bit like this one, to provide online marketing information for complete newbies. Great video also, thanks!
Hi
Please can you add us to your free website traffic classififed sites. http://www.FreeOnlineAds.com has been around since 1999 providing free advertising to individuals and companies.
We will be updateing our site within the next couple of days and hope that you and your visitors would consider joining and evening becoming affiliates.
As affiliites if a user decides to upgrade to a premium, you get a percentage of the sale.
Kind regards
Ari

Howdy! Do you know if they make any plugins to protect againmst hackers?

Any tips?
Hello Nydia,
Here is the link to Eric’s lesson called, WordPress Themes and Plugins:
Superb blog! Do you have any helpful ints for aspiring writers?
I’m hoping to start my own website soon but I’m a little lost on everything.
Would you suggest starting with a free platform like WordPress
or go for a paid option? There are so many choices out there tjat I’m
completely confused .. Any suggestions? Thank you!
Hello Maryellen,
Here is Eric’s latest lesson. It can help you with where you are at, if you just starting out with your writing:
If you run a forum then I’d love you to submit your site to http://www.findaforum.net/
And if you want some niche ideas, then browse the forums on the site and get some ideas.
I am using this list and getting results. I have to keep referring back to it. Have listened to the video 3 times. Reinforcement is good. Like reading scripture: you can meditate on it for years and then all of a sudden get something totally new! Thanks Eric!
Akili
This tips must have taken you so long to put together and I am so so grateful. Mahalo!
Hey Eric..
Decided to take your advice and have a go at Udemy. Been an IT trainer for years, Udemy motivated me to create a training series. Pardon the plug…https://www.udemy.com/excel-soup-to-nuts/

Some of the links in your article go to dead sites. Other than that, great site: lots of resources.
Too many listed that don’t work anymore.
Hello Jotsell,
Yes, the internet is always in flux. This post has the greatest number of links that are subject to chance.
Hopefully, we’ll be able to update this one again in the near future.
Hi,Eric :

Hello Kadir,
You could install Google Analytics, to see a great deal of data on incoming web traffic.

Great stuff… Value, value and more value…
Thanks
Eric
Eric, I recommend you to a lot of people and I find myself returning to see what updates you have. Thanks for sharing the great traffic sources and all of the other information your provide. It’s very helpful!
It all depends on your business. Different social platforms are popular in different industries. You can always educate yourself when it comes to SEO so that your blog can make more of an impact (thus traffic). Forums posts and blog comments made within your industry can also give you some additional exposure as well.
Do you think that free traffic can work for getting our Luxury Baby Gift Site going. We’ve posted products and now we’re trying to decide if wee need to build post through a blog styled section or just try and rank for the keyword of certain products?
There are multiple strategies that you can use there. The blog posts and other content can help create a “community” of like-minded people who are your prospects. FB and Insta are very important for building that community also. As far as SEO, I would focus more on the specific keywords for certain products. But better yet would be if you can get paid traffic for those keywords and have a good ROI. Because if you can do it with paid traffic, it’s instant and you can scale it.
Thank you so much for these incredible resources it is the best I have ever seen! And with me with no advertising budget at the moment offering it for free is truly a blessing. May you receive a hundredfold return on your giving of this knowledge and time of this gift.
