You may have noticed that the world of internet marketing has a language of it’s own, full of words that you might not be familiar with.
Since I’m going to be using those words throughout the lessons, it’s important that you have some understanding of what they mean, or at least a resource where you can find accurate definitions.
So today I’m simply going to cover the terms. More specifically, I’m going to cover 247 words that are used in the online business world…

Thanks. This list is brilliant and answers many questions I’ve been meaning to investigate (like what’s viral marketing and Web 2.0).
Just think about the time and effort gone into providing the material here. I preferred to write down the terms I was not familiar with in a notebook but some people will prefer to pay a small fee to download it. Just as some people are too open to scams you can be the other way too.

Resale Rights gives you a license to resell the particular material that you licensed. It can be a great resource, because you can sell a product and keep all the profits, without having to create a product. However, it is generally best to use Resale Rights as a supplementary income stream. In other words, your own products would comprise a foundation for your business, and you use Resale Rights to add more income. They can also work great as bonuses.
I’ve commented on SBI a few times. Generally speaking, I do not recommend it. I would rather get my hosting and everything seperately, and have full control over my website. I teach all of this throughout the lessons. Thanks

You are right. Every industry has its own vocabulary. I think having the downloaded list will be handy. After all, I am also learning the vocabulary associated with Interior Design. It would not be cool to get them mixed up.
I’ve had some long nights and was not fully awake to keep up with the video. I wish there was a better means of backing the video up to listen to parts missed during the initial playout. I worked around it and heard some parts many times while getting to the part I zoned out on. I have to find a better way to focus my time and energy.

Really good info here, even though I knew quite a lot, there is some I thought I knew the meaning to….but was wrong!
I also use xsitepro which is great to learn with, it does have a few areas for potential improvement. It only allows for template upload if the template was also done with xsitepro. If done with another program like dreamweaver, it won’t accept them 🙁

I’m sure you’ll cover this in one of the later lessons but what are the benefits of XSitePro over Word Press?
I talk about XSitePro in lesson #31 and WordPress in #33. They each have their advantages.
XSitePro is good for non-blog sites, and especially for people who don’t want to write their own HTML code. So if it’s a sales letter, XSite is a good choice. If it’s a blog, WordPress is probably better.

Growing up as a mainstream advertising copywriter in major central London ad agencies, and now operating as an independent advertising and marketing consultant, I remain keen to learn more about online marketing and the internet in general.My core skills lie in “traditional” broadcast media (TV/radio) and press, posters and direct mail. So I was attracted to your tips – and not least, impressed by your apparent integrity. On one of your early lessons, you say loud and clear “DON’T BUY STUFF” – firstly, because there’s a lot of scams out there, making money only for those who sell them, and also because you did not advise buying anything beyond the real essentials before we have been through all of your lessons. So imagine my disappointment when only yesterday – still at the very early stages of your lessons – I received an overt sales message from you to buy into an ongoing business (something to do with the stock market). Whether the product offering is any good or not is neither here nor there – the point being, I feel it does rather dampen my enthusiam to continue the lessons. Basically, I am a businessman, and am fully aware that you are not doing this out of the goodness of your heart, but I do believe that offering something for sale at this very early stage of my “education” is strategically, if not morally, wrong, having made the point clearly about NOT buying stuff.
