Main points:
Without vision, your business probably won’t succeed.
I describe vision as being able to “see” a clear picture of your fulfilled goals in your mind.
It’s like the box cover of a difficult puzzle…
You must begin with the end in mind.
Almost every success in my life has come AFTER having a vision for it. (For example, when I won the state championship, and every time I launch a product)
The successful business owners that I’ve known ALL have vision.
It’s kind of like looking at the world from 30,000 feet. You see the big picture, and not the problems.
If you lose sight of your vision, you lose hope. And if you lose hope, it’s game over.
As we progress in the lessons, we’ll keep moving forward step by step, but if you don’t start by getting a vision, further efforts could be somewhat futile.
If you set your target too low, you may hit it, but there is almost no chance that you will exceed it. On the other hand, if you set your target too high, you may fail, but you will be further along than the “low” target. Therefore it’s better to set your vision higher.
One of the biggest things I see holding people back is a “victim mentality”.
“Formulate and stamp indelibly on your mind a mental picture of yourself as succeeding. Hold this picture tenaciously. Never permit it to fade. Your mind will seek to develop this picture. Never think of yourself as failing; never doubt the reality of the mental image. That is most dangerous, for the mind always tries to complete what it pictures. So always picture ‘success’ no matter how badly things seem to be going at the moment.” – Norman Vincent Peale
Many of us have taken on a “just get by” mentality.
The size of your vision will dictate the size of the result.
YOU are valuable. Don’t sell yourself short.

I want you to take a moment to tell me your vision for your business. The vision can involve other areas of your life too, but since we’re working on building your business, it should be focused on your business.
It’s important to write your vision down, so go ahead and post it in the comments below. This is YOUR vision, and there is NO wrong answer.
Focus on the big picture. Don’t worry about the details of how you will get there. We’ll worry about that stuff when we learn about goal setting and business plans, and I’ll be talking about those things in the next lesson.

These tips are giving me a one-bite-at-a-time approach to building a foundation for a successful internet business. The feeling that I could get from “here to there” but don’t know the steps to take has been a huge frustration, and I’ve spent some money along the way trying to figure it out. I’ve stopped buying things now and am committed to learning and then doing.
My vision for my business is to have a high 6 figure income that will hit critical mass in 4 years. If I decide to leave my current sales job, I will be able to, and I will be able to help those in need which would give me great joy. I am involved in animal rescue, and that would be augmented and supported by my success as an internet marketer as well. your course is very inspirational for somebody like myself who is looking for a business that will guarantee a flow of income after retirement from Government service in three years from now. i live in Lesotho, Southern Africa. Going through your training material i am always in the look out for comments or questions from this part of the world, but i see none. this makes me very sceptical, giving the impression that this cannot work from Lesotho. I’ve tried so often, knowing that physically the m.s would be detrimental, others are afraid and bias, physically. I consider all the internet start marketing I;ve tried for years now, as lessons. I want to get people in touch with job options, ways to make a living that require little or no startup money.
Now my children are taken and I envision being debt free and in a home again, getting my girls back into a better school system, traveling with my kids, I want to show them Europe, Irland, Greece places I have been and want them to see. And beyond.
Once I have income untapped coming in, I can be in a potition of helping others again. OK,nap time. ~;o}

I respect your desire to help people who are in dire straights with their home loan and the excruciating pain and hardship of loosing their home to foreclosure or short sale, and not having the help and assistance that is so highly publicized for those folks to reach out to. It is just a failed system.
If only the system would bring the loan officers, the CEO and all down the chain of command, of the lending instution who originated, approved the loan, sold off to Wall Street. With all the fees that banks and Wall Street made from the mortgages, they eventionally were produced for Wall Steet instead of Main Street.
These big crooks, from where the loan was written, should be forced to sit with each and every distressed home owner, eyeball-to-eyeball, to structure a new loan program for the home owner so they could stay in their home just as the CEO is privileged to stay in his mansion. They put the homeowner in the unscrupulous loan, now they need to reverse it and get them out of it.
I am a 36 yr veteran Real Estate Broker and Short Sales are 90% of my business. On one hand, it is heart warming to provide professional services to those in need when there is no other choice. Their vision is that someone will come to their rescue to guide them through this unfortunate circumstance.
Please give me a link to your website for some of your material that may be a better resolution for some of my clients than a short sale or foreclosure.
I’m not aware of an invetment group in my city who is providing those services to help the homeower. The only investors that I know of are the ones who go calling on the distressed home owner wanting them to sign their deed over to them for a few dollars.

I have stalled, this vision concept has tripped me up my whole life. I struggle with finding meaning and purpose in life. The normal things that motivate people have failed miserably for me. In life things like family, relationships and a good support system, a spouse and kids, the Church, even God and living a clean and wholesome life, are things that provide motivation and hope.
For me these things have managed to not work. And as a result I have at times lived in despair and fear. The fear that beginning anything will just lead to more failures and disappointments.
I am too much of a perfectionist. I have a habit of wanting to make sure everything is a solid and secure reality before moving forward. I want to change that approach and be less idealistic and more realistic.
I have a vision that includes being able to be secure enough financially so I can confidently manage my own affairs effectively. Once my own living situation is improved from living hand to mouth to a place where I have ample enough resources to start giving back, then I want to be actively involved in getting the focus off of myself and onto helping others to make the same kind of improvement to their lives that I have been able to make for myself.
No longer worried about my own welfare and security I will be able to wake up in the morning thinking about others instead of myself, and inventing ways to help, and give, to be immersed in the well being and success of others that need my attention, help, love, and encouragement.
In order to live this kind of success I need very little materialistic possessions other than what would contribute to my own sense of confidence and the secure ability to have or to know where to get resources that will enable and assure my success in helping others.
I ultimately will be capable of helping others without them ever knowing that it is me that helped them. I want to be able to have a network of like minded successful people that understand how to guide people in need to the place where that person with the need also has the ability to help themselves. To offer that sort of guidance without a need to draw attention to themselves.
I believe there is infinite wisdom and reward in the ability to see people helping themselves as a result of the covert and indirect effort of others around them providing encouragement and guidance.
When I can do that I will consider myself a success. I need no specific dollar amount as a goal as much as I need a consistent monthly income that is reliable enough to budget my expenses with the ability to set enough aside faithfully for the help of others.

Wow, I suppose you could say my vision is to never give up. I just closed a retail niche business and actually had to file for BK. My wife is divorcing me and I have a young daughter. My vision is to succeed in the internet marketing arena even though I have never done it before. Luckily I escaped with some money and I also hope to be the best investor/trader I can be too.(this I have had success with) I want to be able to do whatever I want and help/show others how they too can live their vision. My immediate goal is to earn 100,000 the first year and improve every year after until I decide i do not want to do anything.

Greetings. My vision is to be able to make enough money online to enable my husband to give up work so that we can both work on our pro-life websites that we run on a voluntary basis. I would also like to be able to help my family, especailly my son who has two sons with health problems; one (nearly ten) has had Type 1 Diabetes since he was two and a half; and the other (nearly eight) had open heart surgery at thirteen days as his blood was pumping around his body the wrong way. He now needs to have a heart valve transplant (another open heart operation) and all this costs money and the insurance may soon run out. I would also like to be able to donate to my local church and the wider charity (ADRA) to help worldwide wherever possible in supporting those in need. Whilst I would like to live comfortably, a good proportion (over and above my tithe) would be used for other people. I would like to earn/make a six figure sum in my first year of following Eric’s Tips as so far I have tried numerous options and nothing has worked. Onward and upward – Blessings.

I fought with him, every minute of almost one year of the gruesome war against pancreatic cancer…and we lost
During his illness I had never allowed myself for one moment to have doubts about the obviously impossible recovery- of course, because stopping to believe would have meant to die (for me and for him, because we had planned “to go together”); this state of mind ended only hours before he actually passed away
I have no children, almost no friends, certainly no income and no money left; I also have no idea yet why I still live- but since I do, I have to make it worth it

My business vision is to become an online marketing multi millionaire. To have the largest online affiliate retail outlets.
I have a vision of building a number of Places of Refuge for the belivers in Christ. I know that the future could get real rough for them. I have bought a 27 acrce place in the deserts of Utah for that purpose and have a vision to purchase 52 other places for them to come and live on. They will all be self-sustaining/with trade between the ‘places’. That will take great financil provisions and that is what I ask for. Two million dollars per year is the amount I have requested so they can be built up, and then the two million for my people to live in a decent lifestyle. I have ten widows right now who are just waiting for me to retrieve the resources. I have been finaly led a a ‘Man of God’ who can furture direct me to the vision places before me. Thanks, I have not shared this with anyone I do not know, but felt led to do so.
After viewing videos 14-16, I thought I’d come back and tweek my vision. #16 motivation helped me to get clarity and insight to my vision and goals which will be reassessed periodically. So here is the tweeked version…. My vision is to have the largest online marketing business. It has made me a multi millionaire. This is done through various niche sites as well as other income streams. Then branching out to offline areas. It employs others in various ways through outsourcing to product development. It enables me to provide a hand-up to others as well as seeing to it that my family’s needs are taken care of. It allows me to have the time and the money to promote causes that I believe in.

I have been “following” you at least for tree years, getting your e-mail, viewing your videos but did I look good enough. Well to day I am gone to try again and listen closely to what you have to say in your videos. I still have this VISION for a better live by an income from the world, by Internet Marketing. In fact I did get curious about Internet Marketing back in 2002, and I have never let go since; but in 2009 I began to do something in the matter. Well to day I have proven to my self I can sell online, but just 25 bucks are in my account, in three years. Well I still see the end of this adventure that I have had online since I began back in 2009. I see it as steady income for the rest of my live. But there is something wrong with my road to get there, that is way I am back viewing your lessons

I’ve made several attempts at starting a business online. After running a successful offline business in the UK we bought a house and land in Spain achieving a life long dream.
This all went wrong when the business premises we owned in the UK were flooded whilst we were waiting for a sale to go through, most of the town was flooded and hundreds of families lost everything at least we had a home in Spain ready to move into.
Then bang the recession hit, the bank of England put money into the economy in the UK, this in turn ruined the exchange rate for European country’s and overnight we lost 50% of our pensions, our savings etc.
We had to leave Spain after five years and return to the UK luckily we were able to sell our home but for less than we bought it for. We arrived back in the UK no home, not a lot of money, but I still had my dream of being successful online.
I’d taken lots of my material that I’d gathered over the years as a business adviser to Spain, My husband thought I was mad as I started to put it into some sort of order and announced I was going to write a book. Our internet connection was not good so my attempt on an online business were as and when we could get a connection.
Arriving back in the UK meant I could catch up on my research, though my book was now finished, a change in government had meant a lot of changes had taken place and this meant research was important to get it back up to date.
I’m following your course with interest as my goal of running an online business is still a goal that as to be achieved and I agree with what you say 100% I know I will achieve this goal as I am going to return to Spain as soon as I do, most of our family are living there and time are hard there, as they are everywhere at the moment so my being able to achieve success on the internet will mean a lot to all of us.

My vision is to run an online and consulting business that will honor and glorify God through the successful, obedient application of His Word and science (which don’t contradict) to information products and personal instruction in truth analysis, intellectual development, memory enhancement, interpersonal communication and language. These products and services will edify others spiritually, mentally and relationally while earning me at least $100,000 yearly.
My vision is to earn at least 1 million dollars a year, travel to most of the countries of the world, have the free time to create films that I would be proud to show to film lovers and start a program for bright and goal-oriented street children that gives them a chance to get a good education and become pioneers in their respective industries.
