LESSON #7: What kind of online business will we build?

In the first 6 lessons, my goal has been more or less to give you the proper perspective of this whole online business thing.

So now let’s talk about what kind of business I’m going to be showing you how to build.

Main points:

  • Primarily I’m going to be showing you how to build an information marketing business. In other words, you’re going to create and sell your own Info Product.

    (Info products may include… audios, videos, interviews, home study courses, workshops, teleseminars, webinars, email courses, newsletters, CD’s, DVD’s, books, and more)

  • Secondarily, I’ll be covering affiliate marketing because it really goes hand in hand quite nicely with information marketing.

  • These are the two methods by which I’ve made the most money online.

  • If you’ve already chosen another online busines path: although those are the two business models that I’ll be teaching, there are countless other types of businesses that could fit with much of what I’m going to teach. In other words, keep watching the lessons!

  • Why have I chosen the info product route?

    a) You need your own product!
    b) An information product can be created for low cost or zero cost.

    Action steps:

    1) Get some rest and get fired up to start your online business.

    So now that we know WHAT we’re going to do… the next step is to make sure you’ve got the proper tools on hand to get started. You don’t need a whole lot, but there are some things, and I’ll talk about those tools in the next lesson.

      when you come out with this course on hadware will we have to epurchase them or are they included with this?

      Hi Eric, I am very excited about working on my own product. That is what I really want to do! I’m a writer by nature and was an English major in college always reading books and writing papers! Can’t wait to get started.

      Hi Eric,

      Yes, I would like to create my own information product. I am just not sure what topic to start. It seems a lot of topics are covered already. What would make mine unique? Is the question. I know of topics that are not written about , that I see however is there a market I guess I will have to ask google?

      Hi Eric Prince here. Great lesson. I have a question. If you are new to online marketing, don’t you think it makes sense to first start as an affiliate before creating your own product? I always thought it costs money to create your own information products and the and time effort it takes to create the contents. Please I like to hear your feedback.

      Hey Eric,
      Can’t wait for the next lesson.
      After trying my hand at an online income for sometime now. This is what it seems to me, Product,Website,Great sales page/squeeze page,Traffic,traffic,traffic. Oh and the almighty list. Thats all i hear about is “the money is in the list”.
      Everything up to having “The List” has been acheivable for me. Hope you cover how to start a list.

      Thanks for all the great lessons and advice so far. I live in Spain and have extra time when the children are at school, therefore if at all possible I would love to be able to get your lessons more frequently, as I am all fired up and cannot wait to really get started.

      Hi Eric noticed that the dates are 2008 haven’t seen any 2009 dates. I also would like to advance a little faster doing 4 videos a day instead of one is that possible now it is November 2009.       As I read through the posts, I came across a link to your reasons for going “Free.” You wrote of CEO’s and high level execs and the idea of chasing money. It reminded me of a recent 60 minutes story on that shows founder Don Hewitt. He lived and breathed for journalism and his legacy, 60 minutes. He did not not compromise or sacrifice the ideal for the dollar. We need more people like him in our society, especially running our financial economy. My hat is off to you for wanting to leave behind a legacy. It is inspiring.

      But i have been unable to get the 8 instructiob\n videos to play. i updated adobe and still can not get them to play.

      First of all i want to say huge thanks,only first 7 lessons helped me a lot already:)
      I still can not understand how you are making money , doing these free lesons, obviously such a clever guy wount waist his such expensive time just for free….:)its sound too good to be true, as you have said in one of your lessons…

      can you give us some more information on dropshipping and picking up suitable niches….if that is possible

      However, there is a little problem. In my country paying for internet connection is on the high side so, I don’t know if I could copy some of your videos to play while offline because I need to listen to them over and over again.
