One Minute Commissions – Honest Review & Demo

By | April 11, 2012

I wasn’t planning on doing this today, but I got sucked into a VERY compelling sales video… and the rest is history 😉

I don’t blame anyone for creating a persuasive video. I make them for my products, and I teach others to do the same. The problem is when they’re misleading (or if they’re so ambiguous that you can’t figure out what the product’s really about).

The product I am reviewing today is called One Minute Commissions, by Mike Auton. The name on the product is Rebecca Roberts, but from what I understand from the JV invitations I’ve seen, that’s basically a pen name for the actress/spokeswoman.

The product pitch made some very bold income claims, but what appealed to me the most was its apparent ease of use. It sounded exactly like the type of product that would be useful to many of my subscribers. So I went ahead and bought it for $46.00 so I could review it.

The payment processor is ClickSure, and it was my first time encountering them. It appears that they are attempting to compete with ClickBank, so I went ahead and signed up for an affiliate account too; perhaps I can report more about them later. It seems they are UK-based, and just entering the business. My credit card company called me within one minute of placing my order, to ask if it was fraudulent.

After ordering, I was taken into the upsell flow (aka One Time Offer), which is to be expected. Again, I have no problem with upsells. I do them myself, and I teach it as an effective marketing strategy. One of my recent launches contained the most aggressive upsell flow I’ve ever attempted, with multiple upsells, and it worked very well.

One Minute Commissions had a total of 5 upsell/downsell pages. My only problem with them was that the “No Thanks” link was hidden for a period of time to force you to watch part of the video on 3 of the pages. Other than that, the upsells seemed pretty typical and they did seem to be fitting with the main product (upsale for “Pro” version, etc.). I did not purchase any of the upsells.

The members area is well laid out, and easy to navigate. No problems there.

The training videos were very basic, but adequate. I had some problems playing the MP4 videos in my browser, so if you do purchase the product, I’d recommend doing a right-click and downloading the videos rather than streaming them in your browser.

The software itself (web based) is simple to use. It takes only a few minutes to employ the method, and I did not encounter any real problems while using it.

Here is a demo of me actually using this product (allow a moment for the video to load):

The software generates videos to promote ClickBank products (or Amazon products using their bonus software).

Those videos are then to be uploaded to YouTube, and traffic is to be obtained from organic Google results.

In theory, it’s a good idea. YouTube videos CAN be a great way to obtain Google rankings.

Unfortunately, the videos generated by this software are very spammy. They’re about 20 seconds long, and consist of one static image, with a random bit of background music.

This provides absolutely ZERO value to the end user, which means users of this software are basically spamming YouTube with these videos, and thus spamming Google with useless search results.

I’d be willing to bet that YouTube/Google will crack down on this practice, thus ensuring that it’s not a good long term strategy.

Therefore I do not recommend this product.

Here’s the good news…

With just a LITTLE more effort, you can use this strategy in an ethical and effective manner. Instead of using this auto-generator software, just get yourself some screen capture software (I recommend Camtasia, but there are free options like Camstudio).

Then for each product you want to promote, create a short review or commentary while you peruse the product and/or sales letter for that product. This way you’re actually providing something of value to the people who are searching for those products.

As always, you are welcome to leave your comments below.

Have a great day!

Well, Eric, you are bang on the money. It is a smarmy presentation and I bought it. The end product is spammy and amateurish.

I am going to fire up my Camtasia Suite and make some value-added content as you suggest.

I also wondered about the stand-in for the product creator. Even as a newbie, my name and picture will be on anything I produce.

    Avoid this one folks.

    Eric,
I thank you so much for reviewing and giving an honest opinion about this product. So many so called super affiliates promote products without really knowing if the product is worth a dime. I wish more of these guys would take the time and do as you have done rather than promote products that they know nothing about.
Please keep doing it because there are so many of us who need it.

Comfortably Numb actually. What we really have here is a product that is once again aimed at the newbies. This seems like a Clickbank product of old and since Clickbank seems to have cleaned it up over there in the past year or so there is no place for the spammers and scammers to go. Enter Clicksure. Now, I don’t know anything about clicksure nor do I want to devote anytime to investigate. Edit. I was just over there and signed up for three affiliate accounts. They currently have a grand total of four products (Home Website Builder, Commission Cheat, Online Income Solution and One Minute Commissions) for sale all in the Internet marketing marketing to newbies niche, and I was able to sign up using the word chicken for all the fields except for the email, which I used chicken@turkey.com.
I personally would have to say that regardless of what this product may offer in terms of something useful, it is way way way overshadowed by the fact that it is simply an out and out scam. I went looking for Clicksure Ltd. on google maps, which incidentally is based in the UK and can find no evidence whatsoever that the address I have for Clicksure Ltd., provided by clicksure is where they are based. I would stay far away from this (one minute commissions) and all other products using clicksure.

    thanks Eric,
I was thinking of buying it. I would have returned it, as I have with others who made promises of “how easy it is”. If it doesn’t do as they say, it goes back. I have no problem asking for refunds. but I DO delete all bonus’ and links.

Just before I opened your email, I had watched the sales video you were talking about. It looked hyped up but I must admit, I was considering buying it. You saved me some money and aggravation. You proven to be a man that we can trust. I tell my congregation all the time that the best way to influence others is to be the “right” kind of example. You sir, are a great “example” of what a Christian should act like. Thank you and God Bless you and yours.

Howdy Eric: It sure is a minefield for us newbies out there.

I’m at the basic stage in internet marketing, but managed so far to have two sites up.

I have avoided using video because it’s in my too hard basket for the time being.

One Minute Commissions might have sucked me in if not for your warning.

    Keep up the good work.

Thank you for the awesome review Eric, but what I appreciate the most is the fact that you admitted to getting suckered into a compelling salesletter. We all do it, that’s why these crappy products keep flooding the market, but too many times I see experienced “gurus” talking down to newbies who get suckered into buying this stuff, as if they are too smart to fall for anything like that. Truth be told, I have probably bought at least ten “one click mirale” products for every good one I’ve purchased. So for any newbies, or anyone, who are made to feel stupid because you fall for the bs, don’t worry about it, we all do it, even the ones who don’t want to admit it.

Thanks for the review Eric! I saw this promoted yesterday and tuned out when they started talking $10,000 per day with zero cost and zero skills! Daily sales of what? Their $46 product I suspect when it is promoted by all those affiliates. One wonders how long Youtube will keep those instant ‘videos’ live. Maybe Eric you could follow up and show us your clickbank figures for Chicken Coops and Shed Plans made using those classy videos!

    ……..CAUTION ALL POTENTIAL USERS…………
Google is well aware of this product and will be monitoring several factors like channel creations, and domains,ip addresses etc.
So unless you use several proxies and you want the hassles and costs of maintaining several domains and merchant processors as well as individual presell and sales funnels , responders etc etc etc DON’T DO IT.You will be banned permanently and then you’ll have to set up a new identity and start EVERYTHING from scratch.Talk about a good backhander…..
Private registrations won’t do it either.
Besides the results of Eric’s test show an inferior product that will harm your credibility, your most valuable asset.

I really think if they had just taken the concept to the next level it could have been a great system. I wonder what could be done with PBM in this area?

    Eric,

Thank you for the review. I had just purchased it yesterday, along with the 1st OTO for the link building software at the downsell price.

I totally agree with you on their video software. I have no plans of using that garbage. I will build my own videos with PowerPoint and Camtasia. It doesn’t take that long to do it the right way. I got one tip that I can use, about finding ClickBank products in the 30+- Gravity range. I thought that was a good idea.

I like the idea of their link building software. I hope it’s Google friendly. It’s very scary what has been happening lately to people using the wrong backlinking software. 20 backlinks/week sounds pretty safe though.
I was hoping that you purchased the software so I could get your feedback on it.

Haha good thinking… I hadn’t thought about it today, but yes PBM (Macro Marketer) could be used to make better videos than this, with a little bit of macro programming. You could basically use the macro in conjunction with a video slideshow type of software. You could quickly grab a bunch of images using MM’s multi-clipboard function. You could potentially grab some text or write a quick blurb and have it automatically added as voiceover to the video using text-to-speech program, and then you could program the macro to upload it to youtube automatically and generate unique titles and descriptions too 😉

Hi Eric, thanks for the thumbs up about a dodgy product.

One thing I wanted to comment on was the use of aggressive upsells.

Personally, I find them extremely irritating and a bit offputting. One or two is fine, but to not be able to leave a site until you have clicked your way through four or five feels spammy.

I have walked away from products because of this approach before – I don’t think it gives a good reflection of the product owner.

    Just saying!…..

LOL there are increasing amounts of these dead end videos being used to promote products ultimately resulting in theft of info as reported by Google. Click thru produces no results and I also notice no opt out or unsubscribe option. I talked with one man who reported his identity had been stolen and had no idea what was going on as the e-mails and programs represented they came from him. Tip of the ice berg if you ask me major corporations are participating

    Hi Eric,

Greetings from a customer/responsive list member from India. Thank you for the heads up on yet another “push button overnight get rich software.

I would steer clear of anything to do with the creator of such “here today gone tomorrow” product and the author as I already have donated substantially to the devil (meaning got ripped off) when I was starting out about six years ago.

As I already have hosting with HG, I would better spend that money to buy a couple of domains and do a much better business for a year utilizing what I already purchased from you and other reputed coaches and maybe see success for a FULL one year or beyond instead of following crap and getting banned before I blink!

It should be noteworthy that this OMC is by the same person who had launched the mega-hyped up “Quick Click Commissions” which is now “Sold Out” or maybe got kicked out of CB. There is also similarity between the two affiliate/JV pages. The income testimonial providers in QCC with which the promo video began were mostly hired for $5 from Fiverr as I found out online.

Hi Eric. I am really glad that you have done this video because i was going to do one myself. What a load of crap!! Right from the start this woman said that you can make money instantly. The way she promoted this product was suspect from the start. Its this type of people that are on the net give a bad impression for other marketers that want to make it online. There should be a system online to black list this type of thing. So they do not con the person that wants to make there own money.

Thanks Eric, Wish you would also do a review on Empower Network. Can’t get me upline to reply to my emails after buying the basic product. Seems they only reply if you get as they call it “All In”, which means first buying all their products. Problem is that their system was not working for me to be able to buy the other products. A bit like the chicken and the egg story and probably good in the end for me.

Apart from that, just the name of the product made me not open those emails.

Too many emails from thrustworthy people, not promoting products with names trying to sound like no work, to use time on those emails 🙂
