Happy Thanksgiving 2009

By | November 26, 2009

Happy Thanksgiving! While I’m aware that only about half of Eric’s Tips readers are in the USA, there’s no reason you can’t be thankful anywhere in the world 🙂

Today I’ve got a few things for you…

1) A Thanksgiving gift
2) A Thanksgiving CONTEST
3) Some stuff for you to check out

First, I want everyone who reads this newsletter to know that I’m thankful for YOU. Without you, Eric’s Tips wouldn’t exist.

Here’s a FREE small gift as a token of my appreciation. It’s a collection of WordPress Sales Letter themes. In other words, these themes enable you to easily create a sales letter on any WordPress site. This is a $27 product:

Next, this is the 2nd annual Eric’s Tips Thanksgiving contest!

We did it last year and it was fun so we’re doing it again…

UPDATE: The contest is now over. Thank you to all who participated! We had approximately 675 comments during the contest.

How the winner was chosen: As stated at the beginning of the contest, it would be random this time (Last year I had such a hard time picking the best comments!). So I took the total # of comments before the deadline, and went to Random.org and generated a number between 1 and that number. Then I counted down from the top of the comments until I reached that number.

The winner will receive the website that I created in this demo video: Site Profit Bot demo

And the winner is…

Nadiya, who posted this comment:

“Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family Eric. I have everything to be thankful for – with all the trials and tribulations that comes with life – I have family that is always there for me and we always find a way to try and make the best of it – always with the thought that there are people that have less than us and so the gratitude is always there. And Thank you for always sharing your knowledge and the free gift – Just what I needed!”

Congratulations Nadiya!

OK, lastly…

Here is some stuff for you to check out while you’re laying on the couch digesting turkey this afternoon…

(No longer available)

Have a great day and a happy Thanksgiving!

I am thankful for a sovereign God who is accomplishing His purpose and allows us to be a part of it.

My brother has been supporting Pastor Luke from Zambia for many years. Earlier this year my brother asked me to make a website for Luke and the ministry there. (Communication was challenging but I put up a website.)

When my brother found out Pastor Luke was in Atlanta a few weeks trying to raise support, he bought an airline ticket so Luke could spend Thanksgiving with my family in Pittsburgh.

What a blessing to meet Luke, to hear about the work the Lord is doing in Zambia and to hear the vision the Lord has laid on his heart.

Spending Thanksgiving with my family has always been a blessing but this year the Lord provided an additional blessing.

    I am very thankful!

I’m thankful that I live in a country and at a time in history which allows me to do ANYTHING I want.

The last year or so has been personally horrible for me, financially speaking, but I am at the point in my life where I’m ready to take that Leap of Faith, and try something different. With your guidance and motivation, hopefully I’ll be a success. I now have to take that first step…maybe this was it!!

    Happy Holidays All!!

    Hi Eric,

I am thankful for reading the E-book of Eric Holmlund: ‘How to sell hosting for a profit’ because now I run my own hosting company beside my day job, I know all about hosting, I learned a lot about making websites(see the one in this post, I made it myself), I make websites for others for a profit, it brought me a lot of good things, the hosting company is paying for itself and in the coming months I will even get profit out of it 🙂 I bought a boat this year(Bayliner 2252, great boats!) and the leads for the coming year is looking good!

For all the above I am very thankful and if it wasn’t for Eric, I couldn’t have dfone all of these things.

    Greetings from the Netherlands,

    Erik.

    Hey Eric,
First, thanks for all the information you provide. WOW, what a way to make a living! Honestly helping others who are trying to create their own web enterprises and making money for your efforts. God is Good! I have been studying your videos for over a year now and have found your information very useful in creating many of the websites I currently operate.
I live in a state of thankfulness every day for all that my Lord provides for my family and me. I’m even thankful for the mistakes that I’ve made in my life. Even though painful, I am grateful for the lessons learned because of them.
Wishing you, your family and all of your subscribers a wonderful and blessed Christmas season.

    Thanksgiving and Mothers
Remembering my Mom this year and how thankful I am to have had such a wonderful lady to have called Mom. Remembering the truths she taught me, the work ethics and about life.
Mom Passed away 3 years ago and left a huge hole in my life. She was my confidant and friend. As time has passed I am thankful that the hole has bee filling with loving memories and fond thoughts of her and her life here.
She was always an inspriation to me With her warm smile and willingness to befriend anyone who needed a friend or shoulder to lean on.
So here’s to Mom and those like her, who teach and grow into the people we are today.

I am thankful that God has reached out and touched my heart. I have always considered myself to be a good man, a considerate man, a caring man. However, it wasn’t until I learned the true meaning of humility that I was able to fully accept the Lord as my only savior. There is now an unequivocal peace and calmness that comes from this awe invoking sense of gratitude. I am very much imperfect, but I am a better father, a better husband, a better man for deepening my relationship with God.

My sincerest thanks goes out to you Eric for everything you do. You are a blessing to many.

    Hi Eric,

I am located in Malaysia and internet marketing is very new to me. I am very thankful and thank God this year that I have found your website Eric’s Tips which is very different from the Gurus. I like your style of teaching, simple and what you see what you get. This contest will be very important to me because I don’t have a good website yet and I never made $1 from the internet yet.

Eric, thanks for this opportunity to express my gratitude to God for my husband.

To some, this may seem a bit mundane.

Obviously, I do not think so.

To set the stage, I’m totally blind since age two, and my husband is sighted.

Ironically, he has a lifelong hearing loss, and recently is being treated for the very beginning stages of glaucoma which is a somewhat common eye disease that often times goes undiagnosed.

However, he’s the true hero in this story because of his utter devotion and strong support to me, and to our 22 year old marriage.

Now you must try to discard all the typical stereotypes that come to mind about blindness because if you were to meet me, and you were open minded, absolutely none of those images would match who I am.

Interestingly, both my husband and I do not come from the place of “victim”.

Victimhood is the exact opposite of gratitude and thankfulness.

Is life sometimes hard to take?

Can life’s challenges be brutal, horribly unfair and hard to accept?

Absolutely! Just read the news if you can’t see any challenges at home…

Life is rough on all of us.

Yet, God’s blessings are abundant and all around us if we open our eyes and appreciate what we have, especially here in the United States…

We both grew up in challenging family situations, and came together to support one another, and as a couple, to create a glorious life.

I’ve engaged in many different careers, but in the last 3 years or so I’ve launched in to a full-blown entrepreneur both on and off line.

Off line my husband and I are RE investors and private money lenders, and online I have websites focused on fitness, and RE investors.

The website side of things is the most rewarding because of the potential to touch so many lives and offer great value.

As a blind person, I have access to specialized technology to access the internet and other computer applications, but I certainly rely on others to perform many of the technical aspects of a web business.

Of course, my husband supports me in all these endeavors as well as holding down a full time job, acting as my assistant.

For example, as I write this, I’m preparing his breakfast, while he helps by putting the finishing touches on the dessert we’re taking to my sister’s house for Thanksgiving.

I truly cannot be the successful person I am in business, or in our personal life without him..

He is truly sent from God.

I grateful I found you during the Internet Millionaire days with Joel Comm. You have great advice always, and most honest in my opinion. I tried downloading this SiteProfitBot, but it is only for Windows. I use a Mac and am very grateful for that! But, many times software is not compatible. I am grateful for my health and family and friends, of course. And grateful to have the opportunity to succeed online, soon.

    Hi Eric,

Although it has been a tough year for me along with alot of other folks, I still have alot to be thankful for. Anyways, I am mostly thankful for great, positive, God centered people like yourself who provide something of value that makes others better in some way, whether it be on the internet or any other form. In these troubled times we definitely could use more of this to make the world a better place. I hope you and your family had a nice Thanksgiving Day and continue to receive many blessings. Looking forward to the rest of the lessons. Okay, that’s my 5 cent for now.

    Many Thanks and Happy Holidays!

Many web frameworks include URL rewriting, either directly or through extension modules.

Apache HTTP Server has URL rewriting provided by the mod_rewrite module

    Eric,

I appreciate your servant mindset with Eric’s Tips. You’ve done a great job and I’m greatly thankful for it. I took the liberty to peruse many of the comments above and found them to be inspiring, sometimes heartbreaking but all of them appreciative.

Isaiah 32:8 says “A generous (noble) man devises generous things, and by generosity he shall stand.”

I believe this verse describes you in many ways and you will see even greater opportunity for generosity in the near future.
