Happy Thanksgiving 2009

By | November 26, 2009

Happy Thanksgiving! While I’m aware that only about half of Eric’s Tips readers are in the USA, there’s no reason you can’t be thankful anywhere in the world 🙂

Today I’ve got a few things for you…

1) A Thanksgiving gift
2) A Thanksgiving CONTEST
3) Some stuff for you to check out

First, I want everyone who reads this newsletter to know that I’m thankful for YOU. Without you, Eric’s Tips wouldn’t exist.

Here’s a FREE small gift as a token of my appreciation. It’s a collection of WordPress Sales Letter themes. In other words, these themes enable you to easily create a sales letter on any WordPress site. This is a $27 product:

Next, this is the 2nd annual Eric’s Tips Thanksgiving contest!

We did it last year and it was fun so we’re doing it again…

UPDATE: The contest is now over. Thank you to all who participated! We had approximately 675 comments during the contest.

How the winner was chosen: As stated at the beginning of the contest, it would be random this time (Last year I had such a hard time picking the best comments!). So I took the total # of comments before the deadline, and went to Random.org and generated a number between 1 and that number. Then I counted down from the top of the comments until I reached that number.

The winner will receive the website that I created in this demo video: Site Profit Bot demo

And the winner is…

Nadiya, who posted this comment:

“Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family Eric. I have everything to be thankful for – with all the trials and tribulations that comes with life – I have family that is always there for me and we always find a way to try and make the best of it – always with the thought that there are people that have less than us and so the gratitude is always there. And Thank you for always sharing your knowledge and the free gift – Just what I needed!”

Congratulations Nadiya!

OK, lastly…

Here is some stuff for you to check out while you’re laying on the couch digesting turkey this afternoon…

(No longer available)

Have a great day and a happy Thanksgiving!

I’m thankful to be living in an age when it is easier than ever before for “the little guy” to make money because of the internet.

Keep up the good work, Eric. The quality of your free advice is highly valued.

Thanks Eric! What I like most about you and your teachings is that you are so fast when you talk and you don’t repeat yourself too much, you go right to the point, but you are still explaining well the different details of your subjects. This is I think quite rare for the little I know of the teachers within this field.
And the other thing I’m impressed about is that often you seem to be helping quite a lot of people in the real need around the world. That’s really nice and highly appreciated.

    Well done and thanks again!

I am very thankful for the simple things in life which I all too often take for granted… a roof over my head, food on the table, and the love of my family.

I hope everyone has a very Happy Thanksgiving!

    Good Morning Eric,

First and foremost, I’m thankful for God’s tender mercies towards a lost sinner like me. I have to admit that God has blessed me with life, health, love and prosperity – far beyond what I deserve.

I’m thankful to have a such a great husband, children, parents and brother.

I’m really quite thankful to have survived labor and delivery so many times, and that I’m the mother of six perfectly healthy children.

Professionally, I’m thankful for the lessons I learned while working a day job that now enable me to run my own company effectively. I’m thankful for the trust my customers and merchants place in us.

And I’m thankful for you and Melissa, Eric. It’s one of my goals to stay in touch better.

    -Sabrina

And I’m thankful that my technical knowledge regarding e-commerce has finally grown to a level that shows “cause” and “effect” with respect to results.

I thankful for something that has nothing to do with work or the web.
My x-wife suffers from some mental problems and she ‘vanished’ with my kids. I started seeing 2 of the 3 in September, after 3 years of no news.
Legal stuff happens slowly, but it seems that I’ll be able to continue seeing them and there is even a chance that I’ll get custody (in front of the judge 28 Jan 10).
So this year I have a lot to be thankful for – not having any clue if your kids are alive or dead takes it out of you – your soul is wounded for life.

    Hi Eric,

Thanks for the video on SiteProfitBot – looks a good piece of software – when you say it creates PHP sites does that mean they are or are not compatible with WordPress (i.e. could the theme be changed that way?)

    What I am thankful for:

My Dad passed away last week after a long battle with cancer, and since then we have had so many people come to us and say how he had a positive impact on their lives.

I grew up in Northern Ireland, and he was a Civil Rights Campaigner in the 1960s and 1970s, standing up for people who had no-one else to stand up for them.

He was also a teacher, and was a great believer in people – he encouraged a lot of people to do things that they wouldn’t otherwise have had the confidence to do, and also discouraged a lot of kids from joining paramilitary organisations.

We’re only finding out the full story now, as he was never one for blowing his own trumpet.

That’s what I’m thankful for – that my Dad had such a positive impact on so many people.

Makes me proud – God rest him

    Eric,

I’m a long time reader of your blog. So many things have happened this year that I am thankful for.

First and always I’m thankful to my family who have supported me on my wild and crazy ride of entrepreneurial independence.

Yes, I said independence. I started my online journey in 2003 of November. Posted my first video in November 2007, started my blog in the fall of 2008, and QUIT my job of 17 years with the school system October 13, 2009 at 1:43 PM with an I Quit email!

I could not have done this without the help and support of my family. They never gave up on me and never complained. I now have 12 employees from the Philippines, my daughter works for me full-time and I walk 15 feet to my office each morning.

Thanks for giving me the opportunity to share a little bit of my story.

I am not writing this post that i can be one lucky person to become . But i thought this could be the correct time to share my feelings .

two months back i had requested you to suggest best method to make money online . That was the time when i lost my job . You suggested me to purchase the Push Button marketer . Without hesitation i had purchased . In spite of knowing the power of the Software i couldn’t able to make use of it . The reason is i don’t know what to do with . But still i have the hope . I am not expecting more . Just some 50 $ per day could do for me . Any how i am always thank ful to you .

I am thankful for the many friends I have. Without them life would be not just boring but probably not worth it.
I am also very thankful for all the “gurus” here who keep reminding me that there is a better future ahead, and that we can all be a part of it as long as we keep the basics in mind.
And, I am thankful for my family for keeping me grounded when I feel like it ain’t worth one more try to find that campaign that will help me find the holy grail of building a list.
    Thank you!

ps: I’ll be ever more thankful when I become the winner of the website that’s already been built. Lazy me, can’t seem to get off my butt, turkey or not, and create it myself. But, and for that I’m not sure I should be so thankful :), I feel I am not the only.

I am thankful at age 69 to be in great health and a great wife.
Well first after your video you made it look easy.
So I bit the bullet and want this to suceed as I have a d9 co. website(unlimited ) they say for domains.
But my question to you is if you can tell me that they say $47.00 after the 30 day trial for more layouts.
Do you think there system will continue to function rotating stuff on my site if I do not continue my membership $47.00 monthly.
I have not opened up the program yet but I am in clickbank, google adsense and ebay but not Amazon yet so I can be prepaired to set up all.
I guess I am not only still a newbie but also a late starter.
I enjoy your honesty with your newsletters.
P.S. I also started a blog so now all that’s left is twitter, facebook ,etc.

    Thanks

    Eric:

I am not such a good writer but but I give it a try at answering your question.

At the end of March of this year I had a massive heart attack. You think you are ready for almost anything but this experience I was not ready for at all both emotionally or financially.

After a triple bypass, I found myself back into ICU as the bypass failed and they had to start trying stents.

Eight months into recovery, I am still fighting all the residual effects of the heart attack. I am still discovering and exploring things I can do and can not do and dealing with the financial hit I took.

Now that I have painted a picture of my life as it is, let me paint a picture of what sustains me and that which I am most thankful for.

What sustains me Eric is life its self and the incredible support circle I have around me.

You see, my natural high is life is helping people. I teach Internet marketing. I don’t take that task lightly because for me it is about helping folks to enpower their life.

I want them to also know that when faced with adversity emotional or financial that you have a choices. You can allow yourself to be crushed or you can fight back.

Circumstances in our lifes can be less than desirable but that does not mean you have to give way to it. You can baby step yourself through a crisis and move toward the
changes and goals you desire and deserve.

Thankful…oh yeah. I don’t take for granted simple things in life, from getting out of bed each morning, talking with friends and family to petting the dog.

I wake up each morning thankful for another opportunity, another day, for challenges to overcome and conquer.

I wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving! Blessings to each of you.

    God Bless

I’m thankful to be living in a country other than my own, not because I don’t like my home country, but because getting to know so many people from other parts of the world gives me a fresh perspective on the joys, sorrows, and troubles common to us all—our one human family.

    Eric,
I think everyone has lot to be thankful for this time of year, even though is is a financially tough time for many. So far the
flu has not hit most people as hard as expected, and our extended family has all been healthy.

I’d also like to thank you for your “Eric’s Tips” website. I found your website several months ago while searching for a standardized “Privacy Page.”
I must say I was skeptical that the “Erics Tips” would be helpful, but I must say you hit the nail on the head in every lesson. Always learning something new! Anyone who doesn’t take your information seriously is missing the boat. Thanks for your diligence and generousity.

As I write this, my two grandsons are playing Thanksgiving related YouTube videos and laughing their heads off! I am thankful for the sounds of their laughter…

My wife is in the kitchen chopping and stirring and cooking for today’s feast. I am thankful for the love we share…

My brother in law and his wife are on the road here from Southern California to spend the weekend with us. I am thankful to have them in my life…

Later today we will be joined by my daughter and son in law. I am thankful for her life and the two grandsons she gave us…

I am thankful for my health…

Finally I am thankful for people who share the knowledge, expertise and passion as all of that has been very helpful to me as I start a new business. Eric, you are one of those!

    Eric,
Thanks much for your timely no-nonesense advice. This could well fit into a business approach I’ve been pondering, as I have a rather inordinate amount of domains laying around. I was pondering just doing something with the domains themselves, but monetizing them first would likely be more logical and this could fit the bill, especially from a time stand point. As someone who’s “cleaning house” as well, does the upsell make sense for selling the sites down the line? With cash slightly tight this time of year, can you obtain the reseller’s license at a later date? Thanks, and Happy Turkey Day!

I supose the biggest thing that i am thankful for is that as each day passes, more and more peace is coming to the world and has almost everyone in the world has family and freinds that can only be a good thing because it means they have to worry less and can look forward to happier times.
