Happy Thanksgiving 2009

By | November 26, 2009

Happy Thanksgiving! While I’m aware that only about half of Eric’s Tips readers are in the USA, there’s no reason you can’t be thankful anywhere in the world 🙂

Today I’ve got a few things for you…

1) A Thanksgiving gift
2) A Thanksgiving CONTEST
3) Some stuff for you to check out

First, I want everyone who reads this newsletter to know that I’m thankful for YOU. Without you, Eric’s Tips wouldn’t exist.

Here’s a FREE small gift as a token of my appreciation. It’s a collection of WordPress Sales Letter themes. In other words, these themes enable you to easily create a sales letter on any WordPress site. This is a $27 product:

Next, this is the 2nd annual Eric’s Tips Thanksgiving contest!

We did it last year and it was fun so we’re doing it again…

UPDATE: The contest is now over. Thank you to all who participated! We had approximately 675 comments during the contest.

How the winner was chosen: As stated at the beginning of the contest, it would be random this time (Last year I had such a hard time picking the best comments!). So I took the total # of comments before the deadline, and went to Random.org and generated a number between 1 and that number. Then I counted down from the top of the comments until I reached that number.

The winner will receive the website that I created in this demo video: Site Profit Bot demo

And the winner is…

Nadiya, who posted this comment:

“Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family Eric. I have everything to be thankful for – with all the trials and tribulations that comes with life – I have family that is always there for me and we always find a way to try and make the best of it – always with the thought that there are people that have less than us and so the gratitude is always there. And Thank you for always sharing your knowledge and the free gift – Just what I needed!”

Congratulations Nadiya!

OK, lastly…

Here is some stuff for you to check out while you’re laying on the couch digesting turkey this afternoon…

(No longer available)

Have a great day and a happy Thanksgiving!

Thank you Eric for affording us the space to publicly express our thankful hearts. BEing thankful helps our spirit man and our minds. Heaven loves our thankfulness too. There is a time to laugh and a time to mourn, but it is always time to give thanks. I am thankful that I can have an attitude of thanks. Last month because my mom remarried, I had a new grandmother for one month and 2 weeks. This morning around 3am my new grandmother passed away, peacefully, on Thanksgiving. Wow. I am grieved, however I believe God wants for me to give thanks, inspite of my grief. Her death was peaceful, so Lord, I give you thanks. She touched so many people, old and young throughout her life, so Lord, I give you thanks. Thank you for her life. Thank you God for the power of choice, because I can choose to be bitter or grateful. Today, I choose to give thanks not just with my mouth, but from my heart and entire being…Thank you God for Love, Thank you for earth, Thank you for Grace, Thank you for family, Thank you for babies and doggies, flowers and trees, Thank you for Life, Thank you God for the awesomeness of your power, Thank you God for the grace you give, Thank You God for the love you show, Thank you God for the mercy you bestow, Thank you God that I can see, hear, speak, smell, touch, comprehend, converse, walk and run. Thank you that I can listen to music and dance to it. Thank you for laughter and that I can laugh. Thank you for the joy You give. Thank you for the freedoms you afford us. Thank you for health and strength. I just say and express to You…Sigh…Thank You. With deep love and appreciation, Chrissi

There’s many things to be thankful for, but as a Christian, today I’m thankful for the word “when”. When I see my grandparents again. When I see my best friend again. When the wrongs are made right. When…not if…but when.

    Eric,

Your newsletters are truly a great example of giving back to the community that made you, with minimal sales stuff (and what there be, be great).

Today, I am ever so thankful for my family and our wonderful totally messed up country. As a disabled Vietnam Vet, my heart is always with our troops. They give so much and pay so much to keep this country free. Thanks to all who are serving and who have served.

I am thankful for my health and happiness. I am thankful for my supportive spouse. I am thankful for the Internet and what it allows me to do. I am thankful for having freedom to be who I am and allowing others to be who they are.

Thanks for the gift and who you are, Eric.

Happy Thanksgiving to ALL. Let me leave you with a smile:

    The Parrot

A young man named John received a parrot as a
gift. The parrot had a bad attitude and an even worse vocabulary.
Every word out of the bird’s mouth was rude, obnoxious and laced with profanity. John tried and tried to change the bird’s attitude by consistently saying only polite words, playing soft music and anything else he could think of to “clean up” the bird’s vocabulary. Finally, John was fed up and he yelled at the parrot. The parrot yelled back. John shook the parrot and the parrot got angrier and even ruder. John, in desperation, threw up his hand, grabbed the bird and put him in the freezer.

For a few minutes the parrot squawked and kicked and screamed. Then suddenly there was total quiet. Not a peep was heard for over a
minute. Fearing that he’d hurt the parrot, John quickly opened the door to the freezer. The parrot calmly stepped out onto John’s outstretched arms and said,

“I believe I may have offended you with my rude language and actions. I’m sincerely remorseful for my inappropriate transgressions and I fully intend to do everything I can to correct my rude and unforgivable behavior.”

John was stunned at the change in the bird’s
attitude. As he was about to ask the parrot what had made such a dramatic change in his
    behavior, the bird continued,
“May I ask what the turkey did?”

    HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

I remember to be thankful when
*I see dirty dishes – a symbol that God has provided another meal for us, or better yet a smile that means someone is happy and God is good.
*I hear the phone ring – God allows others to reach out to us and we may be able to make a difference in someone’s life. Or I hear beautiful music that inspires.
*I feel a warm cup of cocoa, coffee, tea or soup in my hand – God has given us electricity, water, or a cafe with others to help us. Or feel a hug, or the softness, smoothness of the things near me.
*I taste something yummy and remember the quote taste and see, the Lord is good
*I smell wonderful aromas coming from the ocean, the forest, or a kitchen.
*I read others reasons to be thankful-country,family,friends,business, others patience and support and add “me too”
    Thanks, Eric.

Outside of the obvious (Family, Friends, Good Fortune…)

I am thankful for the little things we all tend to unintentionally forget to enjoy like actually savoring a good warm meal or waking up from a good night’s rest or even having a roof to do all this under.

But most of all, in relation to this business, I am thankful for truth… which you provide, here and throughout your correspondences, as unknowns like myself struggle to try and filter through the smoke and snake-oil salesman to get to what oftentimes begins to seem doesn’t exist anymore.

Thank you for that Eric, for providing real marketing truth without the marketing hype.

    Happy Turkey Day!

    To my friend,

    Eric,

You will never know just how much you have helped me this year. I have been follwing your tips now for about 6 months and was still getting only a few results. Then in September I got very ill and was in the Hospital for 3 weeks and then to a physical rehab center for 3 more weeks. While I was in there my place of residence caught fire and burned to the ground. I was lucky enough to have two close friends let me move in with them and give me an old computer to continue to work on my website skills. As November first neared I had a thought that woke me in the middle of the night( as most thoughts often do), and come up with a great idea for a new site. We now call it shirtblirt. Its a website where you can order personalized shirts with any saying you want. We have now advertised in all the cool niches you suggested and also on ebay, facebook and the like. Our sales are starting to skyrocket and its all because of what I learned from you. Talk about being thankful!! Because of my illness I am permanently disabled and cannot work on my feet anymore. But with the power of the internet I can say that I am well on my way to being independent once again. Now that Thanksgiving is here I am so thankful for the day I opened your first e-mail and took a chance. Happy Holidays to you and you family!

    Warmest Blessings,

I and my family are healthy and with that we can much more easily accomplish any goal.I ave made many challenges for myself that I could have been much happier without, But I am thankful for those as well. Those challenges are driving me to really perform this year in order to take care of the family that I love so much, my beautiful wife and young daughter they mean the world to me. And I am thankful to see all of you here on this journey with me! Happy thanksgiving day to you all!

I am thankful that after 13 months of non-employment, my husband has a great job at FedEx. I am grateful for my church family that supported us through this past season in our lives. I am thankful to God that we did not loose our home, have any sickness in the house, and always had food on the table and for growth in my own on-line endeavors. I have a new appreciation for what prosperity truly is. And as more than just a carpenter demonstrated long ago, “You can’t have authority over the storm you have no peace in.” Peace to you in Him this Thanksgiving.

I took the $47/mo trial too, but I really don’t know… I’d say it just depends on if you end up using it or not. If not, then obviously you don’t need it. I took it mainly for the monthly templates… I’m sort of a template junky 😉
