Happy Thanksgiving 2012

By | November 21, 2012

Happy Thanksgiving! I realize that only about half of Eric’s Tips readers are in the USA, but gratitude transcends all borders.

First, I want everyone reading this to know that I’m thankful for YOU. Without you, Eric’s Tips wouldn’t exist.

Here’s a small free gift as a token of my appreciation. It’s a 49-page ebook that I paid to have ghostwritten awhile back, but I never got around to launching it.

I literally paid $600 for it, and it’s been sitting on my hard drive ever since. It’s never been released until today.

So I’m going to let you download it for free WITH Master Resale Rights. I even left it white-label (didn’t put my name on it), so you can sell it or add it as a bonus to any product.

Next, here is the 5th annual Eric’s Tips Thanksgiving contest!

Wow, this is the 5th year we’ve done this!

It’s a good thing to express your gratitude for what you’re thankful for. In fact, it’s been shown to have health benefits.

So once again, we are going to do a group exercise to demonstrate our thankfulness.

All you have to do is post a comment below saying something you’re thankful for. It could be one word, or it could be much more… it’s up to you. If you need some inspiration, feel free to check out the comments from the past four years: 2011 | 2010 | 2009 | 2008

Here is something I’m thankful for…

frozen custard
(My wife, 5 kids, 2 cousins, mother-in-law, and 24 flavors of frozen custard. This was a fun day on one of our road trips, and was a special time because it was the last day we saw my wife’s grandfather before he died.)

Please post a comment below and let us know what you’re thankful for 🙂

Have a great day and a happy Thanksgiving!

    I am thankful we have a spirit. There are lots of living things in the world, but we are unique because we have a Spirit. Having a Spirit makes me worth dying for. 🙂

    I am deeply thankful for the priceless gift of faith in my mighty God and Father and for a growing intimacy in my relationship with Jesus, my Lord who I can know as brother and friend, [amazing!] From this springs all the myriad blessings in my life for which I am so grateful!
    May He give each one of us a thousand reasons during the coming year to say, “I am Thankful!”

    Eric, praying for you and your family, God’s continued presence, favour, and protection.

    God Bless America!

    Happy Thanksgiving to you Eric your Family and to all who read your post.
    I am in the UK so I do not, as a rule celebrate Thanksgiving.
    However there is a lot to be thankful for.
    And perhaps we should be celebrating a thanks giving every day in a personal way. I am sure that millions do, no matter what religion, faith, or creed they follow.
    I hope you enjoy your day

    I am very grateful that I live in a free and democratic society where we don’t have to live in fear and abject poverty, such as those poor souls who were unfortunate enough to have been born in countries where the people’s rights are ignored and abused. I’m very thankful for this every day. I’m also thankful for my family and friends.

    Eric,

    I used the following poem in a Thanksgiving Sermon to give context to having proper perspective on life. Please forgive the fact that I don’t know who to give attribution to.

    POEM: “Forgive Me When I Whine”

    Today upon a bus I saw, a lovely maid with golden hair;
    I envied her – so beautiful, and how, I wished I were so fair;
    When suddenly she rose to leave, I saw her hobble down the aisle;
    she had one foot and wore a crutch, but as she passed,
    she wore a smile.
    Oh God, forgive me when I whine, I have two feet — the world is mine.
    And when I stopped to buy some sweets, the lad who served me had such charm;
    he seemed to radiate good cheer, his manner was so kind and warm;
    I said, “It’s nice to deal with you, such courtesy I seldom find”;
    he turned and said, “Oh, thank you sir.” And then I saw that he was blind.
    Oh, God, forgive me when I whine, I have two eyes, the world is mine.
    Then, when walking down the street, I saw a child with eyes of blue;
    he stood and watched the others play, it seemed he knew not what to do;
    I stopped a moment, then I said, “Why don’t you join the others, dear?”
    He looked ahead without a word, I realized–he could not hear.
    Oh God, forgive me when I whine, I have two ears, the world is mine.
    With feet to take me where I’d go; with eyes to see the sunsets glow, with ears to hear what I would know.
    I am blessed indeed. The world is mine;
    oh, God, forgive me when I whine.

    Happy Holidays to all!

    There are many things in life that I am thankful for. The most important is that for most of my life I have had a job that has paid me well enough that I have been able to do so much for so many others.

    Knowing that presenting a family with a weeks groceries, or the money to pay the electric bill makes such a profound difference in their lives always leaves me wishing that I could do more. Seeing their reaction when they receive these gifts makes getting up each morning worthwhile!

    I “celebrate” in this style year-round and usually end up working every holiday shift each year. Although it may seem unfair to many, I do get extra pay for the day and always spend some time thinking of which of the families the money will help the most.

    During the holiday season, these gifts are the only ones that I buy. No “black Friday” sales or “Christmas gifts” on my buying list!

    I am also grateful to you for letting us share these thoughts. Maybe, just maybe, a single reader has been looking for a way to make their lives more meaningful… This does that in so many ways.

    I don’t have a job that I wake up wanting to go to. In fact, if I couldn’t do for others, I would not have taken this job to start with. I work long hours will very few days off, outside in the weather… rain, snow, heat and cold. Knowing that these families benefit so much from my being there makes the long 12-hour shifts worthwhile.

    I also have 2 wonderful kids and 4 surviving grandchildren that I am grateful for every day. I have my health and the freedom to do the things that are important to me.

    Happy Holidays to all, again.

    We the White Invaders from nowhere Destroyed a Warring Nation of a multitude of tribes that were generally peaceful. aside from raiding each other for women and children that they enslaved.
    We stole there land from them,changing the culture for ever.
    The event you speak of was comparable to our twin Towers event And was only the beginning.
    It looks like ours is yet to come! Perhaps sooner than we think.

    I am thankful for good food, family, friends, and my little bitty house that has a great view of the lake. I’m thankful that the heating bill is paid, the car started, and the computer still works. I’m thankful for coffee, a warm coat, and my daughter. Shall I go on?
