Happy Thanksgiving!
Can you believe it’s been 16 years in a row doing this whole thankfulness exercise and contest? As I’ve been saying for the past few years, I don’t really post on this blog much these days, but we’ve gotta keep this tradition alive for as long as we can, right?
Even though only about half of Eric’s Tips readers are in the USA, I always say gratitude knows no boundaries!
I love keeping up with this tradition because it’s a chance for me to really appreciate all of you – my subscribers and customers. You’re the reason I’ve been able to run this business for so long.
So, first things first… a big thank you to YOU. I’m genuinely thankful for your support and for reading what I have to say. Whether you’re a newbie to our annual Thanksgiving contest or a veteran who’s been with us for all 16 years, your involvement means a lot. Thanks for being here!
As usual, I have a lot to be thankful for this year. I thank God for life and for all He has done for me.
I mentioned last year that we added a new family member through fostering. This continues to be a great journey, and I am so thankful for our youngest daughter, along with the rest of my awesome family.
My wife is an absolute rockstar of being the best wife, mom, and so much more. I’m so thankful for my better half.
In 2022, I rediscovered my love of fishing; a passion of my childhood and youth. In 2023, I took it to a new level. More days on the water, more places, more and bigger fish, and a constantly growing skillset. I’m truly thankful to have the ability and the opportunity to connect with nature and experience God’s creation in this way.
Here are a few videos from my fishing adventures this year…
My attempt to ice fish the highest lake in North America…
A video by a friend, as my wife and I joined him for some alpine fishing…
Another video from Lance, as we ice fished together a couple weeks ago…
Next, here is a freebie as a token of my appreciation.
(As promised, I removed the download link after a few days to keep the value for everyone. Be sure to stay subscribed to Eric’s Tips and download future bonuses right away!)
Now, it’s your turn! Here is the 16th annual Eric’s Tips Thanksgiving contest!
It’s a good thing to express your gratitude for what you’re thankful for. In fact, it’s been shown to have health benefits.
So once again, we are going to do a group exercise to demonstrate our thankfulness.
All you have to do is post a comment below saying something you’re thankful for. It could even be just a few words. There are no bonus points for writing more or writing better. It’s about participation.
NEW: I’ve added a new feature this year. You can optionally upload a picture, video, or audio file! For example, a picture of something you’re thankful for! And if you’re not a “word person”, you can express your thankfulness through art, music, etc.
In a few days, I will choose 10 comments at RANDOM, and will send $20 via Paypal to each to those 10 people! It’s a small way for me to share a bit of the harvest. I will also announce the winners here on this post, as usual.
If you need examples or inspiration feel free to check out any of the previous years.
Please post a comment below and let us know what you’re thankful for 🙂
NOTE: Your comment will not appear right away, but don’t worry. I’ll check them and approve them periodically.
Have a great day and a happy Thanksgiving!
UPDATE: Here are the 10 winners!

Eric, I have seen at work and play -sometimes melded together – for many years now. I respect your honesty and excellence in messaging. I am thankful for your scrupulous style in a world of full of hyperbolic marketing nonsense.
Yes, I agree with your point of view, and I appreciate it.

I’m grateful for my family and look forward to the opportunities the upcoming new year brings.
Hi Eric – every day i practice Gratitude – i thank my ankle (it was smashed to pieces in a skiing accident) for doing it’s best, i am grateful for where i live, my children & grandson, that i have been given another day. I could go on – a home, enough food to eat, that i can see, hear, feel, i am grateful because i am so lucky
I am grateful to be alive, for my family and friends and good health.
Hi Eric. This year I am grateful I got a new hips for free when i had an accident fracturing my femur. Since I had a bad osteoarthritis and fracture at the same time, the Doctors decided to operate me last week for a total hips replacement for free here in New Zealand.
Your expression of gratitude touches me deeply. When you speak of the challenges you faced with severe osteoarthritis and axe surgery, I can truly sympathize with your suffering.I also have a personal connection to this subject, as my dear mother was a remarkable woman who began to suffer from osteoarthritis and osteoporosis at a young age. Later, at the age of 70, she underwent multiple operations on her axes. Despite her immense pain and discomfort, she never showed it to anyone. Even the doctors and my siblings were unaware of her difficulties, as she never complained.
I think I was the only one who understood her reality. To shed light on her suffering, I secretly recorded her without her knowledge, hoping that the doctor, who seemed unresponsive, would finally understand her pain. The surprise in the doctor’s eyes validated my mother’s experience. However, despite this revelation, there was little he could do to alleviate her condition.
Your story touches me deeply and I admire your resilience in the face of such adversity. Bravo to you, and may you continue to find the strength to persevere.

I am so thankful for the gift of an eternal relationship with Jesus Christ, a gift He purchased for me by his own blood when he died on the cross for the sins of the world..
Hello Eric,
I’m thankful for your genuine character and generosity. I’m thankful for your awesome subscribers who commented, very encouraging and inspiring! There’s so much to be thankful for but above all, I’m thankful to God. Psalms 136:1 says “Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good. His love endures forever.” Cheers!
God Bless,
Terry

Hi Eric, I know I’m late for this but still wanted to comment on how grateful I am for the advice and instructions that I have received thru you over the years. I started in IM from your Eric’s Tips blog and with one of your first courses. I actually still have most of the 82 videos. I believe that it is important for us to show gratitude to those who help us along the way in life. Just wanted to let you know. I was out of town and visiting with family that I have not seen in a long time so missed the contest but am ok with that. Just wanted to say thank you.
The following content has been translated from French into English. I apologize for any deviation from the original text.
Dear Eric, I wanted to express my sincere gratitude to you for inspiring me to embark on this exercise of sharing my gratitude. It really is an extraordinary feeling.
Writing has never been my strong point, and I often find it difficult to express myself in words, which ends up taking up a lot of my time. As a result, I tend to avoid it altogether.
However, when I came across your e-mail (which I had to translate as I’m not fluent in English), it awakened something in me. It motivated me to take part in the activity you suggested.
I took up the challenge and devoted several hours to it. As a result, my gratitude overflowed onto four pages. However, I don’t want to overwhelm you with such a long read.
Instead, allow me to express my deep gratitude for the inspiration you have given me.
I’m truly grateful for the incredible people I’ve had the privilege of partnering with. I’m grateful for all the wonderful connections I’ve made, both face-to-face and indirectly, with inspiring people like you.
My letter of thanks began like this:
Thank you, Eric, for sharing your wonderful life. It’s refreshing to see happy people, who know how to spread their happiness. It’s a nice change from the negativity that seems to surround us on TV and radio. We feel like we’re constantly bombarded, with over 70% negative news, and it can be overwhelming.
If only people knew the impact, of their choices. As they say, “Tell me who you listen to, and I’ll tell you who you are”.
So I’m really grateful, that I don’t let myself be consumed, by these everyday waves of negativity.
True, I wish I understood English better to fully appreciate your story. However, I love looking at your photos, and even watching your videos, I can feel the positivity.
I consider myself lucky to identify with the cockerel, the symbol of France. It’s not for its symbolic history, but rather for a joke that’s close to my heart.
“It’s the only animal, that even with its feet in the Shit, it still sings”.
It resonates with me because, like everyone else, I’ve encountered difficulties. However, nobody suspects anything because I’m always smiling and in a good mood. It’s always been that way, as far back as I can remember. Even when I was a teenager, people would say: “Here’s the happiest person of all”, and I would always smile and agree.
I’m like the French cockerel: “Even with my feet in the mud, I’m still crowing”.
“When you laugh, the world joins in the merriment; when tears flow, others seem to withdraw.”
I thank each of you for sharing and sincerely wish you all the best.
