Hey!
I was just thinking about this Eric’s Tips site, and realized it’s been more than a couple months since I posted anything. I also haven’t sent out a lot of emails lately, and haven’t published much this year.
With that in mind I want to offer a brief explanation and quasi-apology. I say quasi, because I’m not really sorry for what I’ve been doing, but I am sorry if any Eric’s Tips readers have felt neglected 🙂
Basically, I’ve just been practicing what I’ve been preachin’ over the past several years. My internet business is doing well, and I’m focusing more on other priorities. Eric’s Tips is all about building a business that allows you to work on your own terms and have the freedom to do the things you want to do. Life is short, so the time to focus on your priorities is always now.
For anyone who has been through the lessons, you know it’s not a get-rich-quick program. In fact, it’s a LOT of work to build a sustainable business. I’ve been doing this for quite a few years now, so in some respect you could say I’m enjoying the fruits of my labor. I’m not saying any of this to boast. It’s not an ego-trip or a humble-brag. I wouldn’t be posting it at all, except I think it’s important for anyone who is following my lessons to know that these methods do work, and are still working for me.
Over the years I’ve seen a lot of Internet marketing teachers come and go. I’ve seen many go out of business for various reasons. Some of them disappear without saying so much as good-bye to their subscribers. Some have reinvented themselves and bounced back; others have not. I’ve seen them make their millions and lose them just as quickly. Many times greed gets the best of people. Other times, it is simply a matter of unwise choices. Yet other times, the circumstances are beyond control.
I’ve certainly made my fair share of mistakes (which form the basis of some of my lessons), so I’m not one to point a finger. At the same time, I just want to let you know that things have been going pretty good lately. My business was doing well prior to the recession of 2008-2009, it did well during it, and it’s done well during the recovery right up through today. My income never took a hit during all those years, and this year is shaping up to be my best yet. This is proof the system works, but I cannot say this without also saying… all the glory goes to God my provider!
A few years ago, I reported that I was experiencing some health issues, and I’m happy to report that my health is good. Again I’m not saying this because I think I’m great or that you even care. But I feel I owe it to my readers on some level to give you an update on this. As you know, health is a blessing and shouldn’t be taken for granted.
So what have I been doing?
For one, I’ve taken up road biking in the past year, and as any fellow cyclists will attest, it’s a time-consuming activity 🙂
I’ve devoted quite a bit of time to ministry stuff, such as helping my wife with the dance ministry, and leading mission trips. I’m leaving on a trip tomorrow morning, and I’ll be home for only two days before embarking on another trip.
We purchased a second home on a lake down in Louisiana, where we’ve been doing some projects in the community. Now we’re happy to call the place home, and when we go there we’re going to be with friends, not just to do projects. Come to think of it, we’ve bought a bunch of investment properties in the past year. Remember way back in lesson #6 I talked about the Cash Flow Quadrant? Well I’ve been focusing a little more on the investor quadrant lately. I’ll talk some more about that stuff in lesson #99 later this year.
Bottom line, I’ve actually been very busy (perhaps too busy) and working hard… just not on this visible side of my business.
I’ve still been working on my business too, but the time spent on my business has mostly been on specific income-producing activities such as doing promotions and product launches. In essence, my business has been more in maintenance mode, rather than growth mode. But thanks to the leveraging nature of the Internet, the business has still been growing too. If you have a limited amount of time (and we all do), I’d recommend prioritizing the income producing activities in regard to the time you spend on your business.
What does this mean for the future of Eric’s Tips? Actually not much has changed. I expect things will slow down a little later this summer, and I plan to finish creating the 100 lessons. Beyond that I have some big plans for Eric’s Tips and will continue to deliver top quality money-making tips and tools.
If you have any questions or comments please leave them below. It might be a little while before we moderate and answer comments, as I’ll be mostly offline for a bit, and my brother-in-law Micah (who often moderates this site) is in the middle of a mission to Brazil. But we will get to it!
Thanks again for reading my tips, and I’ll be in touch… hopefully soon!
Blessings,
Eric
